Do you want Mommy or Daddy?
It’s always Mommy.
I can remember one time when the answer was Daddy. Literally one, and only one, time. That’s not an exaggeration. Once out of 1,309 days have the boys chosen to cozy up to Dad for bedtime instead of Mom. The scales are heavily tipped.
I’m raising two boys who act more and more like their mother each day, and I couldn’t be more proud of that.
They match her charm with a quick glance or comment that lets you know they realize what they just said was actually that funny. They match her silliness with endless dance parties and singalongs. They match her determination by never giving up on whatever challenge is in front of them.
While only one day is set aside to shower her with praise, every day is truly Mother’s Day in the Zimmer house. We go as Hannah goes. Her love and tenderness are more than we deserve, and we are so grateful she is ours.
Happy Mother’s Day.
